Dr Lynn Townsend, MBBS BSc (Hons) FRANZCOG DDU

Dr Lynn Townsend is an enthusiastic Obstetrician Gynaecologist.  She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney and was awarded the Royal North Shore Medal during her final year. Lynn also holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physiology from the University of New South Wales and a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Lynn individualises comprehensive care to women and their families and delights in being part of the pregnancy journey. 

 

She is a lecturer within the Medical Faculty at UNSW and teaches medical students and junior medical officers. She was awarded the Senior Staff Excellence Award for Teaching for UNSW Medicine Women's and Children's Health School in 2017.  She holds membership of a number of professional associations including ASUM, ISUOG and SOMANZ.

Lynn is also a partner of Ultrasound Care Australia, a tertiary level obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound practice. Her ultrasound interests include prenatal and genetic screening tests, placentae and ultrasound investigation of infertility. See www.ultrasoundcare.com.au

Being a mother of three energetic daughters herself, Lynn has an understanding and genuine interest in all aspects of pregnancy and women’s health. 

​

Scientific evidence is a critical component to Lynn's care. Vaccination is an important part of her practice. Consequently, she is unable to care for people who are unvaccinated without legitimate medical exemptions. .
